As a dynamic designer, Yukun appreciates timeless spaces that are carefully-tailored to their environments. He believes architecture’s role is about building a memorable narrative through spatial, material, organizational, and cultural principles. As such, he strives to marry form and function, with quality and integrity to achieve a compositional balance that tells a compelling story of the place.
Born in China, Yukun spent his pre-teens in Japan, and matriculated in the States, resulting in him being exposed to the many facets of urban design early on. He honed his architectural design skills at Woods Bagot, working on various projects, including high-rise office towers and high-end retail. He joined WRNS Studio in 2019, bringing a breadth of experience from conceptual design through construction administration, and project leadership.
Yukun earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona, where he double minored in Japanese and Business Administration. Throughout college, he received numerous awards and distinctions, graduating at the head of his class. He’s a member of the Bay Area Young Architects and consistently seeks out new design opportunities. A music aficionado, he plays the trumpet, guitar, bass guitar, piano, and DJs. When he’s not making music, he enjoys an outdoor run in the park and mastering traditional Chinese calligraphy with a cup of tea.
