While he grew up in a family of designers, artists, and craftspeople, it was Luke’s first visit to Chicago that sealed his interest in design and urbanism. A deeply curious and experimental architect, Luke approaches design from a position of empathy, research, and understanding. Prior to joining WRNS Studio, Luke worked with Endrestudio and SOM on projects as near as the Bay Area and New York and as far as Beijing and Shanghai. Despite this far-reaching experience, Luke approaches each project with a fresh set of eyes, working to understand user needs within their context instead of making assumptions. It’s this approach that has informed his work creating responsive, sustainable, and user-friendly spaces–from high-rise commercial buildings and urban developments to senior housing, mixed-use hospitality, parks, and other urbanist projects.
Luke earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where his studies focused on empathetic architecture. In his spare time, Luke enjoys making art, reading, hiking, climbing, and cooking.
