Kanako R. Lathrop

Kanako R. Lathrop brings more than fifteen years of experience designing commercial projects – such as restaurants and retail spaces – in Hawai’i, New York, Japan, the United Kingdom, India and Indonesia. In a globalized world, Kana believes in architecture’s ability to organize people, materials, and resources to benefit a local community – nourishing its culture and sparking its economic growth. Kana’s design process starts from being decidedly analog, using sketches as a tool to quickly explore design options, to re-creating realistic perspective rendering shots using BIM. She works closely with each client to stay on track with the project goals, including budget, schedule, and design. Kana finds that determination and attentiveness create effectively functional spaces that are equally beautiful.
