Haiqi is an inquisitive designer, interested in creating unique experiences that have an emotional appeal. She’s sensitive to how people interact with the built environment, and tries to create spaces that bring pleasure and inspiration. A material enthusiast, she is drawn to the beauty of wood and the coolness of concrete, and often makes sculptures from both, playing with their materiality and shapes.
She joined WRNS Studio at the end of 2018, after relocating to the Bay Area from Providence, Rhode Island, where she received her Master of Arts in Interior Architecture with a concentration in Adaptive Reuse from the Rhode Island School of Design. She earned her Bachelors of Architecture from Southeast University in Nanjing, China. During undergrad, she studied abroad at Lund University in Lund, Sweden, and held internships at Ateliers Jean Nouvel in Paris and at The Oval Partnership in Beijing. During her free time, she prefers to be outdoors, either wandering around the city, hiking in Golden Gate Park or playing badminton.
