Passionate about affordable housing, empathetic design, and sustainability, Carissa approaches her work as an opportunity to be challenged, always thinking about how users will feel within the built environment. Carissa began her journey in architecture in high school, where she received hands-on training in drafting, lettering, blueprinting, and model-building. While she briefly considered majoring in psychology, she found that architecture fulfilled similar interests, bringing to her work an empathy and curiosity that aims to help people by fostering a sense of belonging and connectivity through design choices.
Carissa earned her Bachelor’s in Architecture from UC Berkeley and interned with our studio while completing her undergraduate work. A budding Junior Designer, she hopes to earn her architecture license in the following years. In her spare time, she enjoys being active, cooking, and baking.
