Andy brings over 20 years of architectural and design experience to WRNS Studio, with expertise delivering high performance buildings in the healthcare sector. Andy specializes in the application of collaborative techniques, such as Integrated Project Delivery and Virtual Design and Construction, to create sustainable environments that support operational efficiency. He earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design with an emphasis in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Originally set to graduate with a major in physics and minor in fine arts, Andy found the perfect balance of the arts and sciences within the field of architecture.
Andy has completed numerous Ambulatory Care Facilities and Acute Care projects during his career. Clients include UCSF Medical Center, Stanford Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center, Santa Clara County Health System, the Cleveland Clinic and Kaiser Permanente. For Andy, good listening is the most crucial part of the design process. He believes that if teams listen well, identify goals, then collaborate to deliver them, everyone is smiling at the end of the process. Andy has taught in the graduate program of construction management at Cal State East Bay and is a member of the LEAN construction institute. He enjoys fly fishing in the Sierra mountains when he has the time.
