Andrea’s design approach emulates the modernist principle that form follows function. Early on she learned that no matter how beautiful a building is, if it does not function, it has failed to fulfill the basic needs of its users. At the age of 12, her parents began the hunt for a new home, prompting Andrea to draw plans and elevations based on their search and her family’s requirements. Without hesitation, architecture became her career path, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Regional and Community Planning from Kansas State University.
Returning to her native Kansas City, Missouri after graduation, she worked primarily on sports projects. Moving to San Francisco, she was drawn to WRNS’ beautiful design work and the opportunity to explore new project typologies. A nature lover, Andrea pairs her love of running and the outdoors by corresponding her vacations to half marathons at national and state parks.
