Abdel is an seasoned architect with 13+ years of professional experience. Focused on materiality and its subtle ability to interpretation context, he combines artistic expression with intuition and technical expertise to create memorable experiences. His phenomenological approach is amplified with natural elements, as he strives to integrate shadow and light into his work poetically.
Abdel brings a global perspective, rooted in curiosity, to WRNS Studio. He spent the first part of his career practicing architecture in Amman, Jordan, helping to extend the region’s history and local craftsmanship. Afterwards, he moved to the Bay Area to hone his international design skills. During his tenure at SOM, he oversaw multiple large- and small-scale projects, managing teams and leading designs for master plans, high-rise buildings, multi-story complexes, retail, and residential. He’s worked on several high-profile and sustainable buildings that have been exhibited internationally, including the CITIC Financial Center.
Abdel is a licensed architect in Jordan. He earned his Master of Architecture, with honors, from The University of Jordan. He received his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, with honors, from Najah National University, where he was also awarded a fellowship. Earlier in his career, he was nominated, twice, for a Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship. During his free time, he travels extensively, experiencing and observing how architecture and culture are weaved together.
